MANILA – Plano ng 61 siyudad na bumili ng COVID-19 vaccines para sa kanilang mga residente, ayon sa pinuno ng League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) na si Bacolod mayor Evelio Leonardia.
Ayon kay Leonardia, halos P10 bilyon na ang kabuuang pondo na nailaan ng iba’t ibang siyudad para sa planong pagbili ng bakuna.
“We feel that this is our chance to be contributory to the national effort to vaccinate all our people and that is why we feel that this is a matter of teamwork,” wika ni Leonardia.
Sa kanyang siyudad sa Bacolod, naglaan na si Leonardia P300 milyon para sa pagbili ng COVID-19 vaccine mula sa AstraZeneca.
Bago rito, inaprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang panukalang pagpasok ng local government units (LGUs) sa isang tripartite agreement kasama ang pambansang pamahalaan at mga gumagawa ng bakuna.
“There are about 8 of these different products and we are supposed to talk to each one of them and we should be able to relay all this information to the city mayors so that they can be properly guided,” wika ni Leonardia.
