Anti-crime ops net 6 suspects in N. Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – At least six persons, including this city’s 8th most wanted person, were arrested while some PHP94,700 worth of shabu were seized in a series of anti-crime operations in this province on Monday.

Col. Marvin Joe Saro, Nueva Ecija police chief, on Tuesday, said two of the suspects– Hector Abad, 43, and Darwin Manalastas, 28, both of Barangay San Fernando Sur, Cabiao town– were collared in a buy-bust by the San Isidro police.

Operatives recovered from the duo 10 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP5,000.

A joint operation by the Quezon Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Branch, Regional Field Mobile Battalion-3 (RFMB3) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), meanwhile, bagged a certain Jon Jon Botardo, 49, of Barangay San Miguel, Quezon town who reportedly yielded eight sachets, weighing 12.8 grams or PHP87,000 worth of shabu.

Anti-drugs teams from General Tinio and Cabanatuan City police, meanwhile, arrested Eljericho Abanilla, 36, a vendor from Barangay Sto. Tomas, Peñaranda and Resty Gimeno, 22, of Barangay Daan Sarile, who were caught with a total of PHP2,700 worth of shabu.

Bryan Gabriel, 30, who was listed No. 8 most wanted person here, was arrested in a manhunt operation in Barangay Kapitan Pepe, police said.

Gabriel, of Barangay Mayapyap, has a pending arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
