MANILA – Kinuwestiyon ng Malacañang ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) sa umano’y kabiguan nitong bayaran ang umano’y napakalaking utang nito sa isang pribadong ospital.
Ayon sa Medical City, may utang pa ang PhilHealth sa kanila na nasa P1 bilyon.
“With this information, it gives me now the right to ask President (Dante) Gierran of PhilHealth: What’s happening to the payables of the private hospitals?” wika ni presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
Sinabi ni Roque na hindi maaari ang ganito dahil halos 60 porsiyento ng bed capacity ng national health system ng bansa ay nasa mga pribadong ospital.
“Of course, kung hindi magbabayad (if they are not paid), we’re endangering public health and thereby endangering national security,” wika ni Roque.
Maliban dito, aabot sa halos isang bilyong piso ang utang ng PhilHealth sa Philippine Red Cross (PRC) dahil sa ginagawang testing para sa COVID-19. (AI/FC/MTVN)
