SILVINO Lobos, Northern Samar – The new road network located in the municipality of Silvino Lobos, Northern Samar and the construction of the Cagpanita-a Road and Cagpanita-a Bridge in Mondragon, and the on-going road opening with concreting and construction of Sulong Bridge along Mondragon-Silvino Road Section completed this year.
The project stretched to a total of 12 kilometers and will benefit seven barangays, namely: Brgy. Cagpanita-an and Brgy. De Maria of Mondragon and Sitio Naperes, Poblacion 3; Sitio Sulong, Poblacion 3; Deit De Suba, Deit de Turag, and Casapa, of Silvino Lubos.
The new road will facilitate the delivery and movement of goods and services and will bring development to the municipality of Silvino Lobos.
The town is a fourth-class municipality, poverty stricken and among the NPA infested areas of the country.
The residents believe that once the road network is completed, it will lessen armed encounters and bring more services to their town.
Silvino Lubos is also known as little Baguio or the “Summer Capital of Northern Samar” due to the hilly terrains and cold climate. High altitude vegetables and abaca is common in the area. (AI/MTVN)
