LAOAG, Ilocos Norte – Kinumpirma kahapon ni Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc sa kanyang Facebook account na nakapag-pre-order na ang lalawigan ng Ilocos Norte ng 120,000 dose ng COVID-19 vaccines mula sa AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company.
“We will be utilizing a part of the P46 Million COVID-19 fund of the province for the procurement of an initial quantity of vaccines that will benefit about 60,000 residents or about 10% of the province’s total population,” wika ni Manotoc.
“It is a tough decision for me because there were concerns about its efficacy. But I also did not want to pass out the opportunity to get the vaccine early, so I just got a small amount,” giit pa niya,
Pagdating sa efficacy rate, ang AstraZeneca vaccine ay 70 porsiyentong epektibo para mapigil ang Covid virus kumpara sa Moderna na may 94 porsiyento at Pfizer-Biotech na may 95 porsiyento.
Sinabi ni Manotoc na unang babakunahan ang frontline workers, senior citizens, at iba pang vulnerable groups kapag dumating ang bakuna.
Inilagay ang Laoag City sa Localized General Community Quarantine noong Martes sa bisa ng Executive Order No. 110-21, para mapigil ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 cases kapital ng lalawigan
