CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Some PHP425,0000 worth of shabu was seized and an alleged drug suspect was neutralized in separate buy-bust operations conducted by police operatives on Wednesday night.
Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said on Thursday that joint operatives of Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), San Miguel Police Station and Malabon City Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Longos, Malabon City.
Cajipe said authorities were able to seize 11 medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 50 grams and Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of PHP425,000 from the arrested suspect identified as Noemie Esquerra, alias Noel Esquerra, a resident of Barangay Longos, Malabon City.
The information came from one of the drug personalities arrested by members of the San Miguel Police Station pointing to a certain “alias Noel Esquerra” as the source of the illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, a drug suspect identified as Ronald Ramos was killed in a buy-bust operation that led to an armed encounter in Sitio Gulod, Barangay Pantubig, San Rafael, this province, also on Wednesday night.
After the consummated drug transaction, Cajipe said the suspect became suspicious, drew a gun and fired toward the operatives.
“A brief gunfight ensued which resulted to the death of the drug suspect. However, his unidentified male cohort on board a motorcycle eluded arrest and fled towards the east direction of San Rafael,” Cajipe said.
Recovered from the scene were two 9mm empty shells, one .38-caliber revolver, 12 sachets of shabu and buy-bust money. (PNA)
