MANILA—After 10 years of being under the management of GMA7 Artist Center, Janine Gutierrez just signed a contract with ABS-CBN earlier today, January 15.
She is now officially a Kapamilya.
Her contract signing were attended by Dreamscape Entertainment head Roldeo Endrinal, ABS-CBN bosses Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes, Mark Lopez, Ric Tan, and Janine’s manager, Leo Dominguez.
Janine is the first Kapuso actress to transfer and sign a contract with ABS-CBN after Congress shut down its free broadcast.
Reports said that she will be doing a teleserye under Dreamscape Entertainment, a content-providing unit of ABS-CBN that produces FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Walang Hanggang Paalam, among other teleseryes.
Janine will also topbill a movie produced by Star Cinema, a subsidiary under ABS-CBN Films. She is expected to be part of ASAP Natin ‘To and other Kapamilya programs.
Janine was mentioned in several blind items as the actress who would move to another network and was PEP published a scoop that she would move to ABS CBN in 2021.
There was no contract renewal that surface between Janine and her former co-manager.
Then on January 8, 2021, Janine’s manager Leo Dominguez posted a photo of a dinner with Janine, his other talent Paulo Avelino, and Deo Endrinal. This cemented more speculations about Janine’s transfer.
Janine started her showbiz career in 2010 as part of the GMA’s noontime show Party Pilipinas. She top-billed several teleseryes, like Villa Quintana, More Than Words, Once Again, Legally Blind, and Victor Magtanggol.
Janine’s last appearance was in an afternoon series Dragon Lady in 2019.
She reaped several awards from Famas and Urian for Best Actress in 2020 for her role in Babae at Baril.
Janine is considered a showbiz royalty. She is the daughter of actors Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher Gutierrez. Her paternal grandmother is music icon Pilita Corrales, while her maternal grandmother, de Leon’s adoptive mother, is screen superstar Nora Aunor.
