ZAMBOANGA CITY – Anti-narcotics operatives arrested four newly-identified drug personalities and seized some PHP252,000 worth of shabu in separate anti-drug operations here, a police official said Monday.

Capt. Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-9 information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Willimar Chavez, 27; Roden Punzalan, 34; Kenneth Mark Puyawan, 29; and Jaymark Alejandro, 29.

Chavez, Punzalan, and Puyawan were arrested by Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) operatives in a buy-bust operation around 2:20 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Camino Nuevo here, Duco said.

DEU agents seized some 36.7 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of PHP250,000 from the suspects, Duco said, along with other pieces of evidence.

Meanwhile, Alejandro was arrested in another buy-bust operation around 11 p.m. Sunday in a subdivision in Barangay Tumaga here.

Alejandro yielded some PHP2,000 worth of suspected shabu, a coin purse, and PHP200 marked money, Duco said.
