TUGUEGARAO City, Cagayan – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Regional Office 2 today announced the completion of the Guibang-Gamu By-Pass Road that will decongest traffic in the pilgrimage town of Gamu, Isabela.
According to the DPWH-RO2, the project can shorten travel time, attract tourism and investors, generate jobs, and support peace and order in the region.
“The new By-Pass road is expected to reduce traffic and congestion along the Daang Maharlika (LZ) especially during rush hour and peak times,” the regional office said in a statement released in their official website.
The construction of Guibang-Gamu By-pass road involves the construction of a 4-lane, 13.4-meter carriageway width, 300 mm. thickness, concrete road with a length of 1.23962 kilometers including a Road-Right-Of-Way (RROW) acquisition.
The project was funded under the 2018 and 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with an allocation of P152, 250, P43,024 respectively.
It is expected to divert motorists plying Daang Maharlika Highway and benefit Pilgrims of the Our Lady of Guibang Shrine. (AI/MTVN)
