MANILA—Award winning actor Rocco Nacino and volleyball star Melissa Gohing are now married.
Two months after their engagement, Rocco and Melissa exchanged “I Dos” in a military wedding onboard a naval warship at Pier 13 in South Harbor on January 21.
The Kapuso actor/navy reservist and the seasoned libero sealed their union before a military chaplain onboard naval warship BRP Tarlac LD602 overlooking Manila Bay.
The private ceremony was witnessed by their family and Navy officers.
Since health and safety protocols were still being observed, the guests at the wedding were only limited. The newlyweds decided to let their friends watch the ceremonies through Zoom video conferencing only.

The couple married in the military service to honor the actor for being a member of the Philippine Navi Reserve Command and Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG)
Rocco graduated from his Basic Civilian Military Training in October 2019 after completing 15 sessions of training and lectures to become a fully-fledged navy reservist. He took his oath as a Petty Officer (PO) 3rd Class with the Philippine Navy a month after.
Since Rocco’s appointment, he has been participating in the Navy’s outreach programs and relief operations, some of which Melissa also joined.
Rocco shared that he and Melissa decided to already seal the deal to honor their parents’ wishes to see them marry first before they start living under one roof.
They also decided to get married because Melissa is set to begin her “bubble” training for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The three-year-old volleyball league resumes its tournament in a bubble-type setup in its inaugural season as a professional league. The PVL is tentatively set in April at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
Rocco, on the other hand, will film a new movie under TBA Studios with Sanya Lopez and Valeen Montenegro.
Nevertheless, Rocco said he and Melissa still plan to hold a Christian wedding once the COVID-19 situation gets better.
Rocco and Melissa officially became a couple in September 2017.
the Kapuso star revealed that he met Melissa when he went to watch a volleyball game, in which Melissa’s team was playing. It was through a team manager Rocco was introduced to Melissa.
Rocco later learned that Melissa was a fan of Encantadia. He then used this as an opportunity to get to know Melissa better.
