MANILA— When the news about Raymart Santiago and Jodi Sta. Maria’s relationship broke out, there were speculations that Jodi called up Claudine several days after. Raymart was Claudine’s former husband. They parted ways some years ago.
But Claudine cleared it with some members of the press in a small gathering this Monday, January 25, that it was her who called up Jodi because they were close to each other having been under the same network management before.
Claudine and Jodi worked together in a teleserye in 2007 “Walang Kapalit.”
Claudine expressed: “I was very very close to Jodi. That’s why I really felt so bad na hindi niya sinabi.
“Ang ginawa ko, kinuha ko ang number niya kay Raymart, ako ang tumawag sa kanya. Nagkausap kami.”
Claudine said that their conversation went smoothly but she admitted that she felt bad because they did not fulfil their promise.
She stated: “Maayos yung pag-uusap namin. Until meron akong isang hiniling sa kanila na umoo sila.
“It was for the kids, e. Hindi sila… they didn’t live up kung ano yung promise nila. ‘Yon yung medyo hindi okay.”
Raymart and Claudine have two children, Sabina and Santino.
Nevertheless, Claudine wishes Raymart and Jodi happiness. “In all, ano talaga… happiness lang talaga ang ano ko sa kanila. I think everybody deserves to be happy.
“Kahit hindi kami nagkakasundo ni Raymart. At the end of the day, I want them to be happy. Kasi, at the end of the day, he’s still the father of my children.”
But Claudine sounded that Raymart fails to do his responsibilities to their children.
“And ang akin lang, huwag lang niyang kalimutan ang mga responsibilidad niya.
“Kasi, medyo hindi niya nagagawa yung dapat niyang gawin, e. Hindi siya sumusunod, e. Yun lang naman ang akin.
“Kung anong meron sila sa buhay nila, okay, go.
“Noong una talaga, full support pa ako, e. I was so excited, blended family, ganyan-ganyan.
“Pero just for them honestly, with all sincerity, I want them to be happy. Just don’t forget my children. Yun lang naman ‘yon,” Claudine seriously said.
It was a good move for Claudine that she and Jodi would be okay and there would be no more threat of filing charges against the Kapamilya actress because of her relationship with Raymart.
Claudine signed a film contract with Borracho Films under Atty. Ferdinand Topacio who also produces “Mamasapano” where Claudine plays a cameo but important role.
The movie Claudine to be directed by Joel Lamangan and scripted by Eric Ramos will be her comeback film after almost six years of absence from the big screen. Claudine’s new manager Arnold Vegafria was also present during the contract signing.
On the same occasion, Claudine also signed a contract with Cathy Valencia as the beauty clinic’s endorser.
Direk Joel Lamangan was all praises for Claudine as an actress, saying she is a good actress, she only needs a perfect project.
Claudine in turn said, “Masasabi kong artista na ako pag naidirek na ako ni Direk Joel Lamangan. Puwede na akong mag-retire.
Direk Joel countered, “No, she cannot retire. Good actresses do not retire, because acting is in their blood. They will always hunger for it.” He also admitted that it has been his desire to a film with Claudine but there was never a change. He said he will make sure this movie will be unforgettable.
It was in 2015 when Claudine did a film “Etiquette For Mistresses” but she was not the lead. She was with Kris Aquino, Iza Calzado and Kim Chiu.
She was with Anne Curtis and Richard Gutierrez in “In Your Eyes” in 2010.
Claudine starred in a teleserye on TV5 in 2016 Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap? with Diether Ocampo, Cesar Montano, and Meg Imperial. Unfortunately, it did not rate well and there were few commercial loads.
There was a reunion movie plan by Viva Films for her and Mark Anthony Fernandez but there has not been any news about it yet.
I am sure Claudine’s fans and followers are still around to patronize this film where she is the lead actress. The movie has no working title yet.
But Atty. Topacio made sure that this movie will finish earlier than “Mamasapano” which his Borracho Films is currently filming. (Evelyn C. Diao/MTV)
