New N. Ecija top cop vows to work hard vs. crimes, insurgency

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The newly-designated chief of Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office on Friday vowed to work hard to address the criminality and insurgency problems in this province.

Col. Jaime Santos, who was the chief of police of San Juan City, Metro Manila prior to his new post as replacement of Col. Marvin Saro, said he will hold office daily, including weekends.

“Hindi po ako uuwi (I will not go home),” Santos said, adding that he will reach out even to the people in the outskirts.

He also said they will boost police visibility along with the campaign against illegal drugs, crackdown on crime gangs and loose firearms and implementation of end local communist armed conflict.

“Kailangan po na maramdaman ng tao na sincere ang kapulisan, magagalang ang mga pulis, at sana hindi ma-involve ang mga pulis sa illegal acts (There is a need for people to feel that police are sincere, respectful and hopefully, not to get involved on illegal acts),” Santos said.

The move, he said, is in line with the order of PNP Chief, Gen. Debold Sinas.

He also promised to keep a close tie with every stakeholder in continuing the fight against crimes and insurgency.

The turnover ceremonies were officiated by Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division of the Police Regional Office-3, on behalf of Police Regional Police-3 regional director Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon. (PNA)
