FUGA, Aparri – The Naval Task Group Marine Fleet Cagayan and 20th Marine Company of Marine Battalion Landing Team 10 (MBLT10) constructed flag markers in the islands of Mabaag and Barit in Fuga Island, Aparri, Cagayan.

According to the MBLT 10, it is important that the two islands must bear the flag markers to show that the government is serious in safeguarding its territory and asserting its control over its islands.

The MBLT 10 added that the islands strategic location makes it an important part of the territory of the Philippines that other countries must recognize and acknowledge.

The two islands are part of the 13 uninhabited islands that can be found in the northern part of Luzon.

The construction of the two markers was done with the support of the Naval Forces Northern Luzon Construction Team. (AI/MTVN)
