MANILA—John Lloyd Cruz made himself clear that he has no social media account following the news that he gave Joshua Garcia pieces of advice about life and love.
Just recently, the actor sent an official statement to pep.ph to clear the wrong information.
The award-winning actor cited how some of the entertainment news providers “explicitly picked up” the fake information.
John Lloyd approached the news portal and actress Maja Salvador, his friend to help him convey his message to the public that the Facebook account @johnlloydcruzofficial is not his.
He said that the said Facebook account has no right to use his name and his picture to express words and sentiments that never came out of his mouth and his mind.
In his official statement, John Lloyd stressed in capital letters: “AKO PO AY WALANG KAHIT ANONG SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT. WALA PO AKONG FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, MySpace, Friendster or Tumbler etc.”
He has neither Lyka account and he warned his followers in giving their gems.
On allegedly giving Joshua Garcia personal pieces of advice
The issue stemmed from the news published by legitimate news websites about the status post of Facebook page “John Lloyd Cruz” on February 25, 2021.
With a black-and-white photo John Lloyd Cruz and Joshua Garcia, it stated the advice of John Lloyd to Joshua which read:
“One day everything will fall into place just the way it should be. So until then, don’t focus too much on the confusion. Just focus on improvement and betterment. Create a great life for yourself Joshua Garcia.”
Those who were able to read the post doubted that it could be related to the much-talked about video featuring Joshua and his ex-girlfriend Julia Barretto. The music video of Moira dela Torre “Paubaya,” is about the two people in love but was not meant to be together in the end. Julia is now the girlfriend of Gerald Anderson, as the actor admitted in an interview recently.
As of press time, “John Lloyd’s” advice to Joshua has gathered 5.4K comments and 18K shares, meaning, many have read it and has been shared many times on Facebook.
Currently, the verified “John Lloyd Cruz” account has already 1.5 million followers. Other websites were encouraged to publish the news because the two actors are being compared to each other.
John Lloyd, 37 and Joshua, 23, are regarded as prized talents of ABS-CBN although John Lloyd is no longer with the Kapamilya network, but Joshua remains.
They have always been considered to be look-alikes and both are good actors. Others say that Joshua could be the one following the footsteps of John Lloyd who has proven his strength at the tills.
John Lloyd Cruz full statement
John Lloyd’s official statement reads as follows:
