ZAMBOANGA CITY–The Zamboanga Sibugay provincial government said it will start vaccinating medical front-liners on Sunday (March 7).
This came after Zamboanga Sibugay Gov. Wilter Palma and Dr. Ulysses Silorio, provincial health officer, received Saturday the 579 doses of Sinovac vaccines from the Department of Health-9 (DOH-9).
DOH-9 transported the Sinovac vaccines to the provincial health office’s storage in Ipil, the province’s capital town. The doses were part of the 10,200 doses of Sinovac vax doses that arrived here Friday from Manila.
Silorio said they aim to inoculate Sunday some 100 medical front-liners, who are among the 1,000 health workers of the province.
He said the medical workers are given priority since they have more exposure to Covid-19 patients.
Meanwhile, Palma encouraged residents to submit themselves for inoculation once the vaccines are made available to the general population. (PNA)
