10K health workers inoculated in Region 9: DOH

ZAMBOANGA CITY–At least 10,186 civilians and military health care workers in Region 9 have been vaccinated for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Thursday, the Department of Health-9 (DOH-9) said.

Dr. Joshua Brillantes, DOH-9 director, said the vaccination drive covering frontline medical personnel continues in hospitals, both private and public, across the Zamboanga Peninsula, including the health workers of the Sulu Sanitarium, which is under the supervision of DOH-9.

DOH-9 data showed at least 4,478 health care workers have inoculated in this city, the highest in the region. This is followed by Zamboanga del Sur with 2,098; Zamboanga del Norte, 1,738; Zamboanga Sibugay, 1,096; Isabela City, 597; and Sulu Sanitarium, 179.

Brillantes said that the inoculation of health care workers in hospitals would be completed on March 23.

DOH-9 has received 22,200 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines in two shipments, on March 5 and March 10. (PNA)
