2 terrorists yield in Mindanao; firearms, ammo turned over

MANILA — The continuous campaigns of the Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region under the leadership of PBGEN Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director, against insurgency, anti-terrorism, and campaign against loose firearms are yielding positive results resulting in numerous surrenders from various local terrorist groups in the region.

On Thursday, March 18, 2021, joint elements of RIU15 (lead), RID-PRO BAR, PIU, Maguindanao PPO, and CIDG, RFU-BAR facilitated the surrender of Southern Philippines Terrorist Group/BIFF members held at the RIU15 Headquarters at Camp BGen SK Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao.

Zainudin Ison Abdulbaser (aka Teng) and Alimoden Minalang Julian (aka Ali) are BIFF members under Commander Lutre Aman of Karialan Faction.

Karialan Faction group of BIFF is the same faction that harassed Datu Piang Municipal Compound and Sta. Teresita Catholic Church and set fire to Datu Piang MPS Police car on December 3, 2020.

Surrenderees also yielded one (1) unit improvised Cal .50 Barret Rifle with three (3) live ammunition. They are now under the custody of RIU15 for proper disposition and documentation.

PBGEN Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director, PRO BAR lauded the successful conduct of Oplan Paglalansag Omega and Oplan Salikop.

He expressed that this accomplishment is the byproduct of PRO BAR’s efforts that appeals to the lawless elements, BIFF group, to peacefully lay down their arms and submit themselves to the government.

Seven successful voluntary surrenders from the infamous BIFF were recorded from October to December 2020. This only shows that PRO BAR’s recent efforts for its anti-terrorism campaign has been successful. (AI/MTVN)
