BACOLOD CITY – Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 6 (Western Visayas) arrested 12 persons during a buy-bust inside a drug den in Purok Star Apple, Barangay 27 here on Thursday afternoon.
In a report released on Friday, the PDEA identified the 12 as Cristina Tovero and Jeyciprey Juarez, tagged as the drug den maintainer and freight den maintainer, respectively, Jake De-Asia, Nathaniel Ledesma, Mico Mapare, Mark Anthony Perez, Jimboy Jacildo, Bobby Go, Norvin Dorable, Ellen Fernandez, Rene Bayona, and Angie Glimada.
During the operation at 3:25 p.m., PDEA agents seized from them 15 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP102,000, assorted lighters, improvised tooters, and other items.
It was the second drug den to be dismantled in this city in the past 10 days.
The agent who led the operation told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) that the 12 suspects are all detained at their office in the old City Hall as charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them.
They will be charged with violations of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 6 (maintenance of a den), Section 7 (employees and visitors of a den), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Section 12 (possession of paraphernalia for dangerous drugs), and Section 15 (use of dangerous drugs).
On March 15, the PDEA-6’s special enforcement team and operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office Station 3 also arrested five people during a buy-bust inside a drug den in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago.
Arrested were suspected drug den maintainer Val Demafiles and companions Paul Dasuyo, John Mark Limson, Jomar Parar, and Felix Albarico Jr.
They yielded some 12 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP81,600. (PNA)
