MANILA — If Senator Manny Pacquiao, a devout Catholic-turned-Born Again Christian, runs for president, why not a Muslim leader for his running mate?
This was the move of an informal coalition of some former student leaders from the university belt in Manila who have been urging former Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv Hataman to run for vice president in 2022 polls.
Their battle cry: “PH Now Na!” PH obviously stands for the first letter of the last name of Pacquiao and Hataman.
“Napapanahon na upang ganap nang magkaisa ang ating bansa, ang mga Kristiyano at Muslim, upang makamtan ang tunay na pag-unlad,” a PH stalwart who requested anonymity said in an exclusive interview with Maharlika TV.
Hataman is concurrently a Deputy House Speaker.
He served as the sixth and last governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
He won a landslide over the legendary Nur Misuari, founder of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) who became the first ARMM governor, Sultan Kudarat Pax Mangudadatu, and three other independent candidates. (AI/MTVN)
