MANILA — After a week, another personnel of Philippine National Police (PNP) died to COVID-19 bringing PNP’s tally to 37 deaths from the virus.
The new fatality was a 45-year old, non-commissioned officer and assigned at the National Capital Region Police Office in Taguig City.
The new COVID-19 victim cop succumbed last Saturday, March 27, seven days after a pregnant cop died on similar case at a medical facility in Valenzuela City.
The PNP Health Service told Maharlika TV News that as of 6 p.m. March 27, 2021; there is a total of 14,283 cases of COVID-19.
They also recorded 185 new cases that tallied 2,068 active cases and 67 recoveries for a total of 12,178 recoveries.
On March 27, the PNP expanded its quarantine facilities as they opened their sports complex for temporary shelter to cops who might test positive for COVID-19.
Even their Taekwondo facility was converted as a temporary quarantine for affected cops who are mild and asymptomatic to coronavirus disease.
PNP Chief, Gen. Debold Sinas stressed that they are taking care of their personnel well and hoped for them to be healed soon. (AI/MTVN)
