MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH)–Calabarzon on Tuesday reported a 95.4% rollout of Covid-19 vaccines in the province of Cavite, the highest vaccination coverage of the entire region while Quezon posted the lowest at 41.4%.
From among the 17,145 priority A1 lists of medical front-liners and health workers, the province already vaccinated a total of 16,362 individuals.
As of March 28, 2021, there are a total of 195 vaccination sites registered in the COVID-19 Bakuna Center Registry (CBCR) that have conducted vaccination in the various provinces of the region (Cavite – 24, Laguna – 53, Batangas – 56, Rizal – 27, Quezon – 29, and Lucena City – 6).
Of the total target of 98,253 eligible population, 66,742 individuals were already vaccinated.
The coverage rate for Sinovac is at 8.7%, and 59.2% for AstraZeneca.
As of March 28, 2021, the region posted a total of 89,700 covid-19 cases. There are 10,264 active cases with 2,477 deaths recorded.
A total of 76,959 individuals recovered from the virus.
According to Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo, the most number of new reported cases were from Batangas with 331 cases and Cavite has the highest recorded positive COVID-19 cases with 24,271 cases.
“At present, Cavite has the most number of active cases with 3,752 cases. We have 40 new recoveries and 6 new deaths recorded in the province.”
He added that health facilities in the region, especially in the provinces of Cavite and Rizal has been catering for Covid patients from the National Capital Region.
“Tumutulong na ang ating mga ibang hospitals, lalo na yung mga malapit lang sa Metro Manila, gaya ng Rizal at Cavite, upang ma-decongest ang mga ibang health facility at makapagbigay ng suporta sa dumaraming kaso sa NCR.”
“The best things for us to do at this time is to follow health protocols and stay home to prevent the spread of the virus. Mass vaccination will still take some time to begin dahil inuuna pa natin ang ating mga health workers. Mas makabubuting sumunod sa mga panuntunan na itinakda ng ating mga lokal na pamahalaan upang hindi na tumaas pa ang mga kaso ng kaso sa bansa,” he emphasized. (AI/MTVN)
