‘In search of that winning shot…’

Newspaper photography is one of the hardest professions. Photojournalists are always in the hunt for that winning shot while running after things, dodging bullets, or immersing themselves in the middle of a violent street demonstration just to get that “winning shot.” For most, it’s actually a thankless job.

But yes, they always get that immense measure of achievement whenever they get to frame those breathtaking stills that paint a thousand words.

In this featured image(s), one photojourn is captured in action holding hard his breath as he braves through heavy white smoke coming off a fogging pipe mounted on a pickup truck to drive away dengue-carrying mosquitoes and Covid-19 virus in an unnamed street in Manila.
