2 drug suspects killed, 5 nabbed in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Two suspected drug personalities were killed and five others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in this province on Tuesday.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said on Wednesday one of the slain drug suspects was identified only as alias Jay while his cohort was unnamed.

He said a gunfight ensued when the two suspects sensed that they were dealing with an undercover police officer, resulting in their death.

Recovered from the crime scene were a medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu, a .45 caliber pistol, a .38 caliber revolver, fired cartridge cases of different calibers, and a black Mitsubishi Lancer GLS (TOL 153).

Meanwhile, Cajipe said the five other drug suspects were arrested in buy-busts by the Station Drug Enforcement Units of San Miguel, Angat, and City of San Jose Del Monte.

They were identified as Mardy Blas, of Barangay Ilog Bulo, San Miguel town, who is included in the Philippine National Police/Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PNP/PDEA) watch list; Prudencio Vinegas of Barangay Bonga Mayor, Bustos town; and Recardo Bernardo of Barangay San Isidro, Frederick Ernie of Barangay San Roque, and Bernardo Flores of Purok 4, Paradise 3, all in the City of San Jose Del Monte.

Seized from them were 12 sachets of shabu, and buy-bust money.

The suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for testing.

Appropriate criminal charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects. (PNA)
