Naga launches online accreditation for civil society groups

NAGA CITY – A uniform resource locator or link has been established by the local government unit (LGU) here to facilitate online accreditation of all civil society organizations (CSOs) in the city.

Councilor Ghiel Rosales, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s Committee on People Empowerment, in an interview on Wednesday said the project, which was launched on Monday, is called CSO Desk — a facility with which service agencies such as non-governmental and people’s organizations and labor unions could process online their accreditation with the city government.

The accreditation was prompted by the desire of the LGU to build partnerships with the civil society groups “which are in the best position to work together with the city government in the advancement of its people empowerment and good governance advocacies,” he said.

Rosales said the desk provides a one-stop-shop accreditation process with complete downloadable data, forms and documents that can be accessed by the applicants.

He said there is no need for CSO-applicants to personally visit the concerned City Hall offices to be accredited.

“Just visit and click any of these links: #NagaCityCSODirectory #CSOaccreditation #SPNaga,” Rosales said. (PNA)
