PNP kills 5 ‘nanlaban’ drug suspects in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija

CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Philippine National Police 3 Regional Director Valeriano T. De Leon today reported five (5) individuals who are suspected to be engaged in illegal drug trade accordingly died in separate buy-bust operations which turned into a bloody shootout after they got cornered by authorities in Calumpit, Bulacan and Talavera, Nueva Ecija on Monday, March 29, 2021.
According to De Leon, members of the PNP Bulacan conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok 6, Brgy. Pungo, Calumpit, Bulacan against the two suspects identified only as “alyas” Jay and his cohort which resulted in a shootout causing the death of the suspects.

Recovered from the crime scene are the following pieces of evidence: One (1) caliber .45 Pistol; One (1) caliber .38 Revolver; One (1) brown sling bag; fired cartridge cases of different calibers and 0ne (1) medium sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

The members of PNP Nueva Ecija meanwhile, conducted anti-illegal drugs operation at Brgy. La Torre, Talavera, Nueva Ecija against suspects Danilo Botones who is listed in Unified drugs watch list, Roland Maniquiz and Leo Angeles who were all residents of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija which also resulted in a shootout causing their untimely demise.

Evidence recovered were the following: one (1) caliber 45 pistol without serial number; two (2) caliber 38 revolvers; empty cartridge cases of firearms; two (2) pieces of Five hundred (Php500.00) peso bill buy-bust money and one (1) piece of a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

“We will continue intensifying our efforts in the arrest and neutralization of illegal drug personalities in the region to stop the proliferation of illegal drug traders in order for them to have less opportunity to spread illegal drugs in the community,” Valeriano emphasized. (AI/MTVN)
