MANILA — Police commandos administered first aid and medical treatment to a wounded CPP-NPA red fighter who was left behind by his fleeing companions in Negros Oriental on Good Friday.
PNP Chief General Debold M Sinas said police commandos from the 6th Special Action Battalion with SAF Commando Course Class 105-2019 on test mission and Regional Mobile Force Battalion-7 were conducting Joint Strike Counter-Insurgency Operations in response to the intelligence reports on the presence of NPA terrorists in the vicinity of Barangay Nagbinlod, Sta Catalina, Negros Oriental when its clashed with an unidentified number of a terrorist group in the morning of Friday, triggering a brief firefight.
As the troops gave chase to the fleeing terrorists, they found a wounded red fighter with a lacerated wound in the head, fractured right arm, and graze wound in the back. PNP-SAF medics applied first aid treatment to the wounded communist terrorist and prepared him for medical evacuation, SInas said citing reports from PRO7 Director, Police Brigadier General Ronnie Montejo.
“The wounded CPP-NPA terrorist was given appropriate medical treatment until he fully recovers from his wounds to face prosecution,” Sinas said.
Police security forces recovered from the scene one shotgun; one Colt cal. 45 pistol; one hand grenade; two rifle grenades; magazine assemblies with live ammunition; and personal belongings. (AI/MTVN)
