MANILA — Amid the agonizing slow vaccination process and uncertainty on the effectivity of the vaccines, AnaKalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor has announced thru Facebook that he is giving away for free to Quezon City residents Ivermectin, the anti-parasitic drug that some people claim can help prevent or treat COVID-19.
Defensor, who tested positive for COVID-19 last month, revealed that he received Ivermectin treatment and was cured.
Defensor instructed the Quezon City residents to send a private.message to his official Facebook page.
Replying to media queries after his post, Defensor said the Ivermectin he is giving away will be in capsule form.
He said Ivermectin may be taken “once every 2 weeks” to either treat or prevent COVID-19.
The erstwhile Quezon City representative emphasized that only those with a prescription for Ivermectin will be receiving a free supply.
“There should be an accompanying prescription to it. How it should be taken and the amount based on weight. For those sick with COVID, there is also a protocol,” Defensor said. (AI/MTVN)
