MANILA – Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano on Thursday announced that the city government has formally activated two more vaccination sites to ensure that all residents will be inoculated with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines.
These vaccination facilities are at the Maharlika Elementary School in Barangay Maharlika and EM’s Signal Village Elementary School in Barangay Central Signal.
This brings the city’s community vaccination centers to five, aside from the two existing mega vaccination hubs at the Lakeshore area in Barangay Lower Bicutan and Vista Mall Parking Building in Barangay Calzada and the first community vaccination center in RP Cruz Elementary School in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.
“Vaccination is one of the main components to contain the virus and move forward to the new normal. Despite the case surges and being under the ECQ (enhanced community quarantine) guidelines, Taguig is pushing all its efforts to strengthen our science-based and expert-approved initiatives,” Cayetano said.
He also encouraged all residents to register for vaccination using the TRACE Taguig app.
The city started vaccinating senior citizens and persons with comorbidities last March 31.
It has also started giving the second dose of Covid-19 jabs to medical front-liners.
The city government expects its orders of Covid-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca, Covovax, Covaxin, and Moderna to arrive by the third quarter of the year. (PNA)
