DOH registers 11,681 new COVID-19 cases, 55K+ recoveries

MANILA — The Department of Health has on Sunday registered 11,681 new coronavirus cases, bringing the Philippines’ overall tally up to 864,868.

Sunday’s tally also pushed PH’s active cases to 145,519 or 16.9% of the total accumulated cases since the outbreak of the virus in March 2020.

But if it was of any consolation, a huge number of recoveries was recorded on the same day at 55,204 that brought the total number of heals or survivors to 703,404.

Deaths rose to 14,945 as the DOH reported 201 mmore fatalities.

The DOH said the country saw an increase of 69,938 COVID-19 cases last week, or from April 5 to 11. Deaths were monitored at 1,510.

Worldwide

Cases of Covid-19 worldwide have already reached 135,030,164 and 2,920,537 deaths.

The (1) United States remains the most impacted country in the world with 31,169,377 positive cases including 561,220 deaths followed by (2) Brazil, 13,445,006 and 351,334 deaths; (3) India, 13,205,926 and 168,436 deaths; (4) France, 4,903,965 and (5) 97,422; (6) Russia, 4,580,633 and 100,949 deaths; (7) United Kingdom, 4,368,045 and 127,080 deaths; (8) Turkey, 3,798,333 and 33,702; (9) Italy, 3,754,077 and 113,923 deaths; (10) Spain, 3,347,512 and 76,328 deaths.

Other countries with million accumulated cases include Germany, 3,009,452; Poland, 2,552,898; Colombia, 2,518,715; Argentina, 2,517,300; Mexico, 2,278,420; Iran, 2,049,078; Ukraine, 1,893,192; Peru, 1,639,767; Czechia, 1,577,972; Indonesia, 1,562,868; South Africa, 1,557,527; The Netherlands, 1,342,447; Chile, 1,068,522; Canada, 1,052,539; Romania, 1,002,865.
