FONDLY REMEMBERED for his good governance as mayor of Cotabato City for 17 years, National Historical Commission Executive Director Ludovico “Vic” Badoy died on Sunday, April 18.

The deceased was the younger brother of former Comelec Commissioner and retired Sandiganbayan Justice Anacleto Badoy and uncle to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy and Maharlika TV executive publisher Ed Cordevilla.

One of Badoy’s remarkable achievements was the renovation of the historic “Bahay Kalakal” (Ker and Co.) building in Iloilo City in 2018.

What used to be an old warehouse, the building is now equipped with air-conditioners, CCTV cameras, and smoke detectors.

The NHCP also turned over the P18-million heritage structure to the city government of Iloilo.
