BACOLOD CITY – Some PHP2.82-million worth of suspected shabu was seized while six suspects were arrested by various drug enforcement teams in four separate buy-bust operations in this city in the past two days.
A report from the Bacolod City Police Office on Sunday showed that operatives of Police Station 4 apprehended Garyn Jimena, 41, in Purok Sabes, Zone 1, Barangay Villamonte on Saturday.
Around 8 p.m., the suspect sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP500 to an undercover policeman, leading to his arrest.
The suspect also yielded nine elongated and four big sachets of the prohibited substance weighing about 12 grams with an estimated value of PHP81,600.
Earlier at 10 a.m., 19-year-old Dan Aldrick Ballesteros was arrested by a joint team of the Philippine National Police and National Bureau of Investigation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.
Ballesteros was cornered after he sold a sachet of shabu worth PHP1,000 to a poseur-buyer.
Operatives also recovered from the suspect’s possession 21 medium sachets and three large size knot-tied plastic wraps containing crystalline substance believed to be shabu. The drugs weighed 396 grams with an estimated value of at least PHP2.6 million.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the PNP Regional Special Operations Group-Western Visayas and Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-Central Visayas, NBI-Bacolod District Office, and Bacolod City Police Station 2.
On Friday, three suspects were arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 in Purok Ma-inabyanon, Barangay Alijis around 9:20 p.m.
They were identified as Romulo Dipon, 32; Antonio Dipon, 32; and Garry Velez, 32.
The suspects yielded nine sachets of shabu weighing 17.5 grams valued at PHP119,000.
Around 4:35 p.m., a 17-year-old male was arrested in Purok Ylac, Barangay 1 by operatives of Police Station 2.
Seized from his possession were six sachets of shabu weighing about three grams worth PHP20,400 and a .38 caliber pistol loaded with live ammunition. (PNA)
