SILANG, Cavite — Once being bashed followIng rumors that he is gunning for a national position which he flatly denied as he stressed that he is seeking re-election, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Thursday laughed off the instant messages he received.
The messages included the call for the resignation of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the alleged military withdrawal of support for the Commander-in-Chief.
“I believe that the President should serve the remainder of his mandate. The resignation will not change anything. It will only cause further instability,” Remulla said.
On the other hand, there was the alleged withdrawal of support from military generals due to Duterte’s position on the West Philippine Sea.
“I do not believe that a coup d’état can solve the country’s problems,” Remulla further stressed.
On a lighter note, the governor expressed amusement on the message: “Run __ Run (to the tune of Row Row Your Boat … Who Goat).”
“Sa mga mga atat na atat: In about 5 months ay filing of candidacy na. Doon natin malalaman kung sino ang karapat-dapat bilang susunod na Pangulo,” Remulla quipped. (AI/MTVN)
