BALANGA CITY, Bataan – This province has recorded 83 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) that pushed the number of those who have beaten the illness to 4,975, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported on Tuesday.
The province, however, also logged two new casualties, causing the number of deaths to rise to 186.
Meanwhile, 28 new confirmed cases were added to the caseload tally of 6,045, out of which 884 are active infections.
Bagac and Samal recorded the most number of recoveries with 19 each, followed by this city with 12; Pilar with eight; Abucay with seven; Dinalupihan, Limay and Morong with five each; and Mariveles with three.
The new confirmed cases are nine from this city; five from Mariveles; three each from Dinalupihan and Morong; two each from Limay and Orion; and one each from Bagac, Hermosa, Pilar, and Samal.
A 21-year-old female from Balanga City and a 40-year-old male from Samal were the latest casualties.
As this developed, PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said vaccination of medical front-liners for the second dose of CoronaVac is ongoing at the Bataan People’s Center.
A total of 14,009 residents composed of medical and non-medical front-liners and senior citizens have so far been inoculated against Covid-19. (PNA)
