BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health in Caraga Region (DOH-13) on Tuesday reported 40 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the region as of Monday.
Total recoveries stood at 8,979, with no new deaths recorded.
DOH-13 also reported the 28 new confirmed positive cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in Caraga to 10,222 since last year, with 351 recorded Covid-19 related deaths.
As of Monday, the region has 892 remaining active cases.
“Of the new cases on Monday, 24 were recorded in Surigao del Sur particularly in Bislig City with 10, Lianga with seven, Barobo with two, and one case each in Cantilan and Tandag City,” DOH-13 said.
Two of the new cases were also recorded in Surigao City, one in Bayugan City, and another one in the town of Bunawan in Agusan del Sur.
The region continues to have a high percentage on the availability of hospital facilities, with 62 percent on ICU and isolation beds and 79 percent for ward beds.
Ninety-seven percent of the 31 ventilators in the region are also available as of Monday, DOH-13 said.
A total of 44,181 individuals from the different provinces in the region were already vaccinated as of May 2, the agency added. (PNA)
