Asean customs directors-general hold virtual meeting

Rey Leonardo Guevarra (featured image) delivers his message during the virtual 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 where consultations with the World Customs Organization (WCO) and one Dialogue Partner particularly the China Customs were conducted.
The ASEAN Customs organization recognizes WCO as the global center of Customs Expertise that seeks to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of member Customs Administrations globally.
Throughout the years, the WCO played a vital role in the growth of ASEAN Customs in all aspects. Thus, the cooperation between ASEAN and WCO is essential in the pursuit of International Standards and Customs Best Practices.
Furthermore, the Chairmanship of the working groups and committees particularly the Customs Procedures and Trade Facilitation Working Group (CPTFWG), Customs Compliance and Enforcement Working Group (CECWG), Customs Capacity Building Working Group (CCBWG), and the Sub-Working Group on ASEAN Customs Transit System (SWG-ACTS) for the period of June 2021-2023, were discussed and accordingly endorsed during the meeting.
