At least 347 families from three barangays of Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya benefited from the relief-giving activities by the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketer’s Association (LPGMA), in partnership with the 84th Infantry Battalion and the 7th Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Battalion on June 22, 2021.
Lieutenant Colonel Honorato S. Pascual Jr., Commanding Officer of 84IB, said that the collaborative project was in line with the AFP’s “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” program that aims to assist vulnerable families who are greatly in need.
According to Mr. Loreto Santos of LPGMA, organizing relief operations to help the less fortunate is one of their advocacies. Hence, their efforts will continue to reach far-flung communities.
The beneficiaries came from Brgy. Abuyo, Brgy. Lublub, and Brgy. Galintuja of Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya.
Among the contents of the relief packs were assorted vegetables, rice, fish, and canned goods
Brigadier General Andrew D. Costelo, Commander of 703rd Infantry Brigade said, “Your Army will never cease to establish efforts in community empowerment and extend help to our Kababayans. Rest assured, we shall persevere in helping more.”
Meanwhile, the Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, Major General Alfredo V. Rosario Jr., said that their strong partnership with private stakeholders has made a tangible impact on the communities they are helping especially as the effects of the pandemic continue to be felt to this day.
