QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA — In his career as a police officer of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Quezon City Police District director Brigadier General Antonio Yarra has repeatedly been surprised over the involvement of women in different crimes that are mostly committed by men.
Yarra enthused that for most people, they often do not expect female felons in our society as women are considered as those who emulate true motherhood and are the light in every Filipino household that guides all members of the family to do good and what is righteous.
“Dati, bibihira tayong makabalita ng mga babaeng kriminal pero sa ngayon ay dumarami ang nasasangkot sa kalakalan ng iligal na droga at iba pang mabibigat na krimen,” he enthused.
Again this has been proven otherwise with the arrest by operatives of the Fairview Police Station (PS 5) of the Number 5 station-level Most Wanted Person in a police operation conducted in Barangay Santa Lucia in Quezon City.
Based on the report of PS 5 station commander Lieutenant Colonel Florian Reynado, accused Princess Jennylyn Cascaño, 22 y/o, of 14 J.P. Rizal Street, Bgy. Sta. Lucia, Cascaño has a pending warrant of arrest for robbery, hence her arrest.
The arrest warrant against Cascaño was issued by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 226 presiding judge Manuel Santa Cruz Jr. with bail set at PhP100,000.
Pending notification of the court for the fugitive’s apprehension, Cascaño will be temporarily detained at the city jail while awaiting her arraignment and final sentencing by the court. (AI/MTVN)
