ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two suspected big-time drug dealers were arrested while some PHP815,997 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate operations in this city and nearby Zamboanga Sibugay province, a top police official announced Tuesday.
Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, identified the arrested suspects as Hasbi Jamhali, 44; and, Arnold Ferrer, 62.
Ylagan said that Jamhali was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 10:50 a.m. Monday in Purok 1, Barangay Sangali, here.
Jamhali yielded some 100 grams of shabu worth PHP680,000, a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine PHP1,000 bill and a cellular phone.
Ylagan said Jamhali is a known drug dealer who operates in this city and the nearby provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Basilan.
Meanwhile, Ferrer was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:30 p.m. Monday in Purok Orchids, Barangay Poblacion, Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Recovered from the suspect were some 18.3 grams of shabu worth PHP135,997, a cellular phone, and PHP500 marked money.
The suspects will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
