MANILA—Fans and supporters of Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo will be delighted to watch her again on GMA-7 after 17 years.
“Tala, The Film Concert,” Sarah’s digital show which was first shown on ktx.ph, the streaming site of ABS CBN Corporation on March 27, 2021 will have its premiere on GMA-7 on July 18, Sunday at 4:35 PM.
Kapuso shows “Stories of Hope” and “On Record,” will be temporarily off the air on the said date.
The airing of “Tala, The Film Concert” on GMA will serve as Sarah’s pre-birthday show. The singer/actress’ 33rd birthday will be on July 25.
Only a few would remember that at one time, Sarah was a Kapuso artist as she was also a mainstay of SOP from 2003 until 2004.
Sarah left the Sunday musical-variety program of GMA-7 when she signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN in February 2004.
She became a headliner of ASAP, the rival show of SOP.
There might be some speculations that Sarah might also move to GMA-7 with the airing of “Tala” on her former home network.
Her fans need not worry because the boss of Pop Princess’s management company, Viva Entertainment Vic del Rosario has assured that Sarah is still under contract with ABS CBN, and she will therefore remain a Kapamilya.
It is not impossible for the artists of Viva Artists Agency will be in the programs of GMA-7 because Xian Lim will start doing his drama series with Jennylyn Mercado. Viva and GMA-7 have a co-production venture ever since. During the 90s, they were the ones that gave televiewers top-rating shows like “T.G.I.S.,” “Anna Karenina,” and “Spotlight.”
The partnership of GMA Network and Viva came back during the pandemic.
The companies are partners in the production of “A Moment To Remember,” the film project which will be headlined by Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo. Surely, more GMA Films and Viva projects will follow. (ECD/MTVN)
