MANILA – Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula will lead the installation of Bishop Broderick Pabillo as the Vicar Apostolic of Taytay, Palawan next month.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the Manila Cathedral said Advincula would lead the canonical possession and installation rites of Pabillo that would be held at the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral in Taytay at 9 a.m. on August 19.
“The date of installation is made significant by these events: it is the feast day of St. Ezequiel Moreno, the Augustinian Recollect missionary and saint who served in Palawan, and also the 15th episcopal anniversary of Bishop Pabillo,” the Manila Cathedral added.
The celebration will be broadcast live on the Cathedral’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, and TV Maria.
On June 29, Pope Francis appointed the 66-year-old prelate as the second vicar apostolic of Taytay.
Pabillo, who has served as auxiliary bishop of Manila since 2006, will succeed Bishop Edgardo Juanich, who resigned in 2018 due to health reasons.
The apostolic vicariate of Taytay, Palawan is under the ecclesiastical province of Manila. (PNA)
