CEBU CITY— Safari animals and LV-designed roast pigs are becoming a hit among the netizens in Cebu City after they have tasted them when it went viral due to its different presentation.
This is now the strategy being done by 3A’s Lechon from Danao City, Cebu.
To make it different, the owner Anna Marie Batucan thought of coloring and painting all the pigs for roasting so they would look like other animals, like leopard and tiger.
They also try to write on the lechon to make it more personalized, depending on the occasion.
They can also paint the logos of popular luxury brands so it will look expensive.
If your favorite color is green, you can make look like an Incredible Hulk for the lechon.
According to Anna Marie in her interview with GMA News, “Nagsimula po akong mag-customize ng lechon nung nag-green lechon na po ako.”
“Pero nauna yung greetings sa lechon, kasi may mga nagpapa-surprise, may mga broken-hearted na gustong i-surprise yung crush nila.”
But what are the colors she is using to make sure that they are safe? Anne Marie said, the squid’s ink.
“Di ba, iba ang amoy noon? Ikaw na magluto noon para mawala yung lasa,” she said regarding the combination of the color.
But what about the green lechon?
“’Yung green lechon, emerald green. Pinaghalong pandan leaves and lemon grass,” Anna Marie smilingly shared.
She said they spend a lot of time in coloring and painting the lechon to make it more realistic.
They offer free customization to attract more customers. The price range from PHP6,000 up to PHP8,000 per lechon.
3A’s Lechon has been operating for a decade and just like other businesses, there are times that Anna Marie feels like quitting.
“Kasi ilang beses na po akong nadapa. Ilang beses na rin po akong ayoko nang magnegosyo, ayoko nang magbaboy kasi nakakapagod, nakaka-stress.
“’Tapos di mo alam kung masasayahan ba yung customer mo.”
But because of their strategy, their sales improved especially after their customized lechon went viral. It is good she did not give up her business despite the trials she went through.
“Try lang nang try. Ganoon talaga pag nagnegosyo,” Anna Marie said.
Sharing her key to success: “Basta mahal mo ang ginagawa mo.” (ECD/MTVN)
