OCD chief, employees back to work after beating Covid-19

MANILA – All employees of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Central Office in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City who were earlier infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) last month have fully recovered and returned to work.

In a Laging Handa briefing Wednesday, OCD chief Ricardo Jalad said he and the 115 employees who have contracted Covid-19 have completed their quarantine and already tested negative for the disease.

So now, I am fully recovered and I was asymptomatic all throughout my isolation for two weeks. Also, my companions at the OCD Central Office who tested positive for the disease were already released from their isolation hotels and have returned home and reported to the office. They were also subjected to rapid antigen test and this revealed that they have all recovered),” Jalad said.

Jalad, however, said he also availed of a “rapid antibody test” which also showed that he had indeed recovered from Covid-19.

The OCD office was placed on lockdown from August 27 to 30 after 116 employees out of its 380 employees tested positive for Covid-19.

Subsequent testing revealed that 147 of 380 employees were positive for the disease.

Most of the infected employees were asymptomatic. (PNA)
