MANILA — Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has instructed all departments of the city government to enforce a skeletal workforce as of 2:00 PM, today, September 8, 2021, because of the typhoon “Jolina”.

Only essential services such as law enforcement, traffic management, fire protection, health and rescue, and disaster response and management must remain continuous.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (QCDRRMC) implemented a pre-emptive evacuation in some families.

It is because of the level of the flood caused by the typhoon.

Here’s the list of barangays with a pre-emptive evacuation on families: Barangay Apolonio Samson – Apolonio Elementary School; Barangay Bagong Silangan – Bagong Silangan Covered Court; Barangay Roxas – Gen. Roxas Covered Court.

Citizens were advised to prepare and take caution, especially those people who live in landslide-prone and low-lying areas, while waiting for the weather updates from Dost-Pagasa, QCDRRMC, and social media accounts of the Quezon City government.

For emergencies please call: QC Helpline 122; QCDRRMO at 8927-5914; 8928-4396; Emergency Operations Center 0961-239-5097 (Smart), 0916-630-6686 (Globe); Emergency Medical Services/Urban Search and Rescue 892-843-96 (landline); 0947-884-7498 (Smart) 0927-061-5592 (Globe). (ai/mtvn)
