Go warns public to be vigilant in order not to fall victim to
falsehoods, black propaganda

MANILA — As election season nears, the spread of fake news intensifies, Senator
Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go warned the public not to fall victim
into it and disinformation being pushed by those who wish to
take advantage of the vulnerabilities of Filipinos during these
challenging times.

In a statement, Go said that certain groups are simply trying to sow
hatred and divisiveness in order to push their political agenda and
vested interests.

said.

Wala pong
katotohanan lahat yan,” Go lamented.

He called on Filipinos to stay vigilant and validate information being
spread in various communication channels in order not to be victimized
by black propaganda.

nagseserbisyo sa bayan,” Go said.

magmukhang malinis at maputi,” he added.

Go said he will not be surprised if more fictitious claims would arise
in the coming days. He stressed that this style of dirty politics is
nothing new especially coming from those who only want to discredit
the efforts of the government.

Go also reiterated that he has no interest in running for President in
the upcoming elections despite the trust and support given to him by
his party mates and supporters. Hence, he said he finds it irrelevant
that he is being targeted by those spreading falsehoods.

“Wala naman akong interes tumakbo bilang Pangulo. Kaya huwag niyo
akong problemahin.
akin,” he reiterated.

Go assured Filipinos that despite the various issues thrown against
the administration, they remain focused on fulfilling their mandate
and in leading the country towards overcoming the pandemic.

kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino,” Go said.

Commenting on false allegations being spread on social media about a
house being built in an exclusive village, as well as malicious and
fabricated information about his family, Go categorically said that
there is no truth to these claims.

at inyo na yan!,” Go dared.

maniwala sa kwento ninyo,” Go said to those spreading false
narratives.

Meanwhile, Go remained firm on his stand against corruption,
criminality, and illegal drugs, saying that fighting these societal
ills continue to intensify despite the attempts to discredit the
efforts of the Duterte administration.

Napaghahalataan
na tuloy na desperado na sila,” Go said.

Go also hit back at critics saying that these desperate acts to spread
falsehoods only show that they have nothing good to present to the
people, describing them as, “dahil walang naitutulong, naninira na

Go said that others are wasting precious time and resources just to
discredit the country’s COVID-19 response and vaccine rollout efforts
just to push for their own ambitions.

“Their agenda is clear — to destroy others just to paint them clean
knowing they are not. The blatant disregard for due process, fairness,
and the rule of law show their true colors.”

Despite all these, Go reminded those in government to focus on doing
what is right and what is fair to protect institutions and the lives
of the people they serve.

“Desperado na ang kalaban kaya naninira. Hindi na sila naawa sa mga
Pilipino.
Ano ba
itinutulong ninyo sa kapwa ninyo?” he said.

ligtas kaysa noong unang panahon,” he explained.

In the end, Go shared that he has lived a simple and decent life ever
since and those who really know him would attest that there is no iota
of truth to these allegations.

“Despite all these, I carry on — knowing I have always discharged my
duties with utmost integrity and dedication. I assure you that no
amount of black propaganda will derail us from our mission to serve,”
he said.

“That is why we continue to fight the good fight, anchored on the
principle of our leader, President Duterte, to always prioritize the
interests of those who are hopeless, helpless, and in need, in order to
ensure that no Filipino is left behind,” he explained further.

pagmamalasakit at bayanihan!” (ai/mtvn)
