Antique school holds raffle for prompt pickup, return of modules

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Parents who are punctual and diligent in claiming and returning their children’s modules will get the chance to join and win in a raffle at the Bugasong Central School (BCS) in the Municipality of Bugasong, Antique.

BCS principal Dr. Daryl Arguelles said that drop boxes were placed at the gate of the school and outside the classrooms on Sept. 13 where the parents can drop their names.

“Parents who come to the school to personally get the modules have the chance to drop their names on the drop box,” he said.

The raffle draw aims to encourage parents of their 1,075 enrolled learners to be conscientious in claiming and returning modules on their scheduled days so teachers and the school administration could prepare their reports and other output on schedule.

A specific day is allotted for each grade level to get and return the modules.

Tuesday is for the module distribution of Grades 1 and 4, Wednesday for Grades 2 and 6, Thursday for Grades 3 and 5, and Friday for Kinder and Special Education.

Monday is for the school disinfection.

“We had the scheduling of module distribution to prevent mass gathering of parents,” Arguelles said.

Due to the absence of face-to-face classes, most of the learners are taking modular classes while others opted for blended learning of modular and online classes.

Aside from the school raffle, the 40 teachers of the school also decided to have a classroom version to be able to meet the parents and give feedback about the learning progress of their children.

The first five parents to arrive can take part in the classroom raffle draw, which will be held every end of the quarter.

The idea of the raffle was raised during their orientation with the parents a week before the school opening, Arguelles added.

Other stakeholders even manifested their willingness to donate prizes.

“Our prizes will be kitchenwares and other items that would be given by the stakeholders,” he said.

Those willing to donate could get in touch with Arguelles or with their Brigada Eskwela coordinator. (PNA)
