URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan – Authorities seized PHP355,000 worth of shabu from a high-value target in an operation Wednesday dawn here.
In an interview, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Pangasinan provincial officer Rechie Camacho identified the suspect as Robin Macaraeg, 35, a resident of Barangay Salvacion in Sto. Tomas town, Pangasinan.
“The suspect is a heavy equipment operator in the National Capital Region (NCR). The buy-bust operation was originally set for the evening of Tuesday but due to some delays, it was conducted (at) dawn on Wednesday at Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City,” he said.
Camacho said the suspect was considered a high-value target given the amount of shabu that was recovered from his possession.
“Confiscated from him a total weight of 52.35 grams of shabu worth PHP355,967.76,” he added.
Camacho said the suspect hired a passenger van from the NCR to deliver the shabu to the agent who posed as a buyer, resulting in his arrest.
“We are still investigating where his networks are in the province and if there are also other dealers connected to him,” he said.
The suspect and the evidence against him are under the custody of PDEA Pangasinan. (PNA)
