MANILA— Lovi Poe is now truly a Kapamilya.
The former Kapuso actress signed an exclusive contract with ABS CBN this Thursday, September 16.
Present during her contract signing in ABS-CBN compound were Dreamscape Entertainment head Roldeo Endrinal, ABS-CBN bosses Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes, Mark Lopez, Rick Tan, and Lovi’s manager Leo Dominguez.
ABS-CBN post stated: “The guessing game is over as ABS-CBN revealed its new precious jewel, Lovi Poe.”
Based on the caption, it was Lovi who was mentioned in a teaser posted by ABS CBN last week about a “precious jewel finding a new home”
Lovi is set to announce her first project as a Kapamilya.
Hours before her contract signing with ABS-CBN, Lovi posted a message of thanksgiving to GMA-7, which was her home network for the past 15 years.
On her Instagram and Twitter accounts, Lovi posted a publicity photo from one of her TV series at the Kapuso network, Someone To Watch Over Me.
Although she did not mention that she was leaving GMA-7, there was a tone of goodbye and thanksgiving to the network in her message.
She started with the phrase “mananatili sa puso” for GMA-7.
According to Lovi, 15 years as a Kapuso was not a joke, as she started her career in this network.
The 32-year-old actress stated:
“Hindi po biro ang 15 years. I would like to thank GMA for taking a chance on this unknown dreamer; for believing in me and supporting me all these years. I have utmost respect and gratitude to the network that has given me my roots and a heart full of memories.
“Thank you for planting my dreams. Thank you for giving it time, love and effort to water it.
“Punong puno ng pagmamahal at pasasalamat, Lovi Poe.”
There were also times that Lovi guested on different Kapamilya shows like Gandang Gabi Vice, The Buzz, and Magandang Buhay.
She also did a digital movie under Dreamscape Entertainment, Malaya, which was aired on streaming app of ABS-CBN iWant TFC.
Lovi started as a Kapuso in 2006 and became a lead actress in different TV series of the Kapuso network.
Her first project was Bakekang as one of the children of Sunshine Dizon.
Then she was given a lead role for the whole season of Love to Love, “Jass Got Lucky.”
She then became a villain in the afternoon series Kaputol ng Isang Awit (2008), Little Star (2010), until she became the lead actress in different programs like Legacy (2012) at Yesterday’s Bride (2012).
In 2013, there were talks about Lovi moving to ABS-CBN but she chose to renew her contract with GMA-7.
This was the time she was dubbed “Premiere Actress” by the Kapuso network and was given the chance to become a lead actress in her own prime-time shows like Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas (2013), Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real (2014), Beautiful Strangers (2015), Someone To Watch Over Me (2016), at The One That Got Away (2018).
Lovi’s last TV series with the Kapuso network was Owe My Love with Benjamin Alves. It was aired from February until June 2021. (ECD/MTVN)
