LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The much-vaunted “Solid North” for the Marcoses appeared to have developed a crack as a group from different regions in Northern Luzon has urged Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso to run for president in 2022.

This developed as presumptive presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao met with former House Speaker Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez for “possible alliance” for next year’s polls.

It was learned that former and current local politicians, as well as community convenors, joined forces in a virtual conference Wednesday morning to launch the Isko Northern Alliance (INA), which aims to draw support from the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley Regions should Moreno decide to seek the country’s highest elective post.

INA lead convenor Cicero Lumauig claimed that since July, the members have been organizing and preparing their base of politicians, as well as community organizers, for Moreno’s possible presidential run.

Meanwhile, Alvarez shared a photo of the meeting with Pacquiao and with the caption: “Discussing 2022 and possible alliances with old friends from PDP-Laban.”

“We are all praying to have leaders that Filipinos need to help solve our problems amid the pandemic,” Alvarez said. (ai/mtvn)
