MANILA — Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III thanked officials and employees of Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) who are partners of his agency in providing jobs to the Filipino people.
In his message for the 21st National PESO Congress, Bello showed his appreciation for the endless efforts of PESO to provide alternative jobs for those displaced workers in their localities, especially during this pandemic.
Bello began his speech by greeting his co-workers in DOLE who helped to expand the service of employers.
“Hindi lingid sa aking kaalaman bilang kalihim ng DOLE ang samu’t-saring balakid na patuloy na pinagtatagumpayan ng ating bansa sa tulong ng mga Public Employment Service Offices [PESO] na naririto ngayon (As a Secretary of DOLE, I am aware of the bunch of hindrances which our country overcomes because of the help of Public Employment Service Offices whose representatives are here today),” Bello said during the Congress that was held recently in the beautiful city of Cagayan De Oro.
Despite all these crises and the pandemic, Bello said the PESO remains to contribute some ideas of employment to give to the Filipino workers.
He further expanded his gratitude to the PESO nationwide because he figured out that the said offices were still helping the citizens who were disgraced into poverty even if in some aspects it is no longer part of their responsibility.
In this year, Bello calls on all the PESO to unite and make this theme, “PESO 2021: SAMA-SAMANG PAGTUTULUNGAN TUNGO SA PAG-ANGAT NG BAYAN (PESO 2021: United in helping each other towards the country’s growth)” as a symbol of their stability and sustainability.
He said that they should let him give thanks to them for the undying support that they’ve been giving to DOLE.
Before he ends his remarks, he said that he hopes for the success of this first virtual National Peso Congress. (ai/mtvn)
