MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is committed to serving people not only for law enforcement but through their BarangaYanihan program under Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) which conducts social works to people.
And just as when the school year 2021-2022 opened with the distance learning scheme is still observed amid the pandemic, some policemen in Abra have decided to extend assistance to the students who are facing difficulty adapting.
The Abra policemen visited the children and helped them understand well the lessons in their modules.
PCADG Director, Police Brigadier General Eric Noble said that helping kids is part of the community support program initiated by personnel of the 2nd Abra Provincial Mobile Force Company in Sallapadan town, according to the report received by the Office of the Chief PNP.
Aside from helping the parents, this project also aims to highlight among the students the importance of education despite the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar lauded the police officers who have helped the pupils with their modules.
“Hindi man ito bahagi ng mandato ng kapulisan, ay nariyan pa rin ang ating mga personnel para umalalay sa mga kabataan sa kanilang edukasyon,” PGen Eleazar said.
“Magandang hakbang ito upang iparamdam sa mga kabataan na kakampi nila ang mga pulis at hindi nila ito dapat katakutan,” he added.
